M(atrix) Theory of Anti-zero-branes

چکیده
M(atrix) theory defines light-front description of the boosted M-theory along the eleventh Mcoordinate. Rank of M(atrix) gauge group U(N) is directly related to the momentum along M-coordinate P11 = N/R11 or, equivalently, the number of D0-partons. Alternatively, Mtheory may be boosted to opposite direction of eleventh M-coordinate. We argue that the corresponding M(atrix) theory is described via anti-D0 partons so that M(atrix) gauge group becomes U(−N). Similarly reversed M(atrix) theory with eight superchrages are described by gauge group O(−2N) and USp(−2N). Gauge and supersymmetry anomaly cancellations require introduction of negative number of twisted sector matter multiplets. M(atrix) theory is the light-front description of boosted M-theory along eleventh M-coordinate. The argument that leads to the identification of D0-partons is as follows. Consider, in M-theory, a particle excitation of rest mass m: E − P 2 11 −P 2 ⊥ = m. (1) If the excitation is boosted by P11 = N/R along compactified eleventh M-coordinates of radius R, E − |P11| = 1 (E + |P11| (

A Two-Loop Test of M(atrix) Theory
We consider the scattering of two Dirichlet zero-branes in M(atrix) theory. Using the formulation of M(atrix) theory in terms of ten-dimensional super Yang-Mills theory dimensionally reduced to (0 + 1)-dimensions, we obtain the effective (velocity dependent) potential describing these particles. At one-loop we obtain the well known result for the leading order of the effective potential Veff ∼ ...
متن کاملInteractions of Eight-branes in String Theory and M(atrix) Theory
We consider eight-brane configurations in M(atrix) theory and compute their interaction potentials with gravitons, membranes, and four-branes. We compare these results with the interactions of D8-branes with D0-branes, D2-branes, and D4-branes in IIA string theory.

We study M(atrix) theory description of M theory compactified on T5/Z2 orbifold. In the large volume limit we show that M theory dynamics is described by N = 8 supersymmetric USp(2N) M(atrix) quantum mechanics. Via zero-brane parton scattering, we show that each orbifold fixed point carries anomalous G-flux ∮ [G/2π] = −1/2. To cancel the anomalous Gflux , we introduce twisted sector consisting ...
متن کاملCreation of Fundamental String in M(atrix) Theory
The potential between two D4-branes at angles with partially unbroken supersymmetry is computed, and is used to discuss the creation of a fundamental string when two such D4-branes cross each other in M(atrix) theory. The effective Lagrangian is shown to be anomalous at 1-loop approximation, but it can be modified by bare Chern-Simons terms to preserve the invariance under the large gauge trans...
متن کاملEmergence of L7-branes and fuzzy S in compactification scenarios of M(atrix) theory
The M(atrix) theory contains membranes and longitudinal 5-branes (L5-branes) as extended objects. The transverse components of these brane solutions can be described by fuzzy CP (k = 1, 2), where k = 1 corresponds to spherical membranes and k = 2 to L5-branes of CP×S1 world-volume geometry. In addition to these, we show the existence of L7-branes of CP×S1 geometry, introducing extra potentials ...
